Latrell Mitchell won't be making a comeback in the NRL this season, but the Souths' superstar will be back on the rugby league field during Grand Final week.

Despite a challenging season for the Rabbitohs, Mitchell, who has only played 11 matches this year, is keen to return to competitive play before the year ends.

With his foot injury sidelining him since round 18, Mitchell has bravely stepped up to play in the Koori Knockout during Grand Final week in Bathurst.

The news has been met with approval from Rabbitohs CEO Blake Solly, who confirmed that Mitchell has the green light to represent Taree in the tournament.

"Latrell is ready and raring to go.

We back him and any of the players who are fit and willing to play in this tournament," Solly revealed in a text exchange with Fox League.

Fans can expect to see Mitchell back in action, showcasing his talent and passion for the game as he takes on the competition during this exciting week in the world of rugby league.
