Jersey Flegg Match Report: Late flurry not enough

The lads at warriors.kiwi have shared the latest chapter in the Jersey Flegg saga: a tough battle against the top-of-the-table Canberra squad.

Despite a late surge of three converted tries in the final five minutes, the NZ Warriors fell short with a final score of 24-34 at Go Media Stadium on Sunday.

Throughout the match, the Warriors had their chances and moments of dominance, keeping the Raiders on their toes.

However, a few missed opportunities and costly errors ended up being their downfall.

At halftime, the Warriors found themselves trailing 6-16 after a hard-fought first half.

Things took a turn for the worse when they failed to clean up kicks in the 50th and 54th minutes, leading to a devastating 90-metre intercept try for the Raiders.

This put the boys in green up by 28 points, leaving the Warriors with an uphill battle and only nine minutes left on the clock.

But true to the spirit of Rugby League, the Warriors didn't give up.

With nothing to lose and everything to gain, they finally found their rhythm and started shredding through Canberra's defense with gusto.

Although it wasn't enough to secure a win, the late flurry of tries showed the heart and determination of the Warriors till the very end.
