Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam has revealed that he was on the verge of fainting when his son Lachlan kicked the drop-goal that secured their first Challenge Cup victory in 52 years.

Lam watched in astonishment as his son's kick sailed through the posts, sealing the win after Gareth O'Brien and Brad Schneider had missed opportunities to secure victory.

Lam explained that the team had practiced the scenario where O'Brien would take the kick, but if he felt under pressure, they would turn to Lachlan instead.

Lam spoke to BBC Radio Manchester and admitted that when the ball flew to Lachlan, he knew that his son would be the one to kick the winning goal.
