Knight's Young Player Granted Training Exemption

LeagueNews.co | Cooper McEnroe

The Newcastle Knights have reportedly secured an exemption allowing 17-year-old Kingston Seve to train with their NRL squad. Seve is recognized as one of the sport's standout young prospects and is primarily a centre. He previously played for the Dolphins before moving to the Knights.

According to NRL regulations, players under 18 cannot participate in first-grade matches or training. Additionally, players must be 17 by November 1 of the year they are signed in order to train. Seve, who turned 17 on November 29, falls outside this criteria.

However, it is believed that this special dispensation will permit him to begin training with the Knights' NRL team in January. As reported by Wide World of Sports' The Mole, both the club and Seve have received this unique allowance. Coach Justin Holbrook commented on the situation, emphasizing its importance for Seve's growth as a player. "It's a great boost for the young guy and will help fast-track his professional development," Holbrook stated.
