Newcastle Enhances Dummy-Half Depth with New Signing

The Newcastle Knights are in discussions with Sandon Smith, yet they have secured a new signing to strengthen their dummy-half position.

As part of their ongoing roster reconfiguration under coach Adam O'Brien and head of recruitment Peter O'Sullivan, The Newcastle Herald reports that Harrison Graham has been signed from The Dolphins to serve as a second-choice dummy-half.

Graham's addition will complement the development roster for the 2026 season, which includes Under-19s NSW Blues fullback Connor Votano, utility back Fletcher Hunt, cross-code athlete Marcus D'Acre, and Parramatta Eels recruit Matthew Hunter.

A former Under-18s and Under-19s Queensland representative, Graham's journey over the past three years at The Dolphins has not met his aspirations. He aims to build on his experience, having played 11 first-grade matches previously, as he joins Newcastle.

This season, Graham has made five first-grade appearances but has primarily played in the QLD Cup, where he recently achieved a milestone of 50 games.

During the current year in the NRL, he has scored two tries, forced three drop-outs, and contributed with four try assists and four line-break assists, along with completing 328 tackles in his 11 reserve-grade matches for the Central Queensland Capras in 2025.
