The Newcastle Knights have reportedly secured the signing of Dominic Young, but the move will not be finalized for several weeks.
According to zerotackle.com, negotiations have been ongoing between the Knights and the Sydney Roosters after Young was dropped to reserve grade by coach Trent Robinson.
Young recently had a brief opportunity in the NRL when Robert Toia was unavailable during the Queensland State of Origin camp, but with Toia's return, Young is now once again the 18th man for the Roosters.
Initial discussions for an immediate release back to the Knights, where Young previously played, encountered difficulties, particularly because the Knights were unwilling to cover the entirety of Young's contract.
Robinson expressed frustration over the situation in a recent press conference, claiming that the Knights had not followed through on their offer, which included a request for the Roosters to contribute to Young's salary.
