The Newcastle Knights have opted to extend the contract of promising young forward Elijah Salesa-Leaumoana, despite missing out on securing several high-profile players recently.
According to zerotackle.com, Salesa-Leaumoana made his debut in Round 14 against the Manly Sea Eagles and has been one of the standout performers for the Knights this season.
Although he has had limited game time, his contributions include 28 tackles with a 93.3 percent efficiency rate and 112 running metres.
Currently contracted until the end of 2026, he is set to be promoted to the Top 30 roster, and the Knights have now extended his contract for an additional year until 2027.
"Elijah is a powerful middle forward who has earned an upgrade to top squad in 2026, along with a further extension to 2027," stated Head of Recruitment Peter O'Sullivan.
