The Newcastle Knights have announced a four-year contract extension for winger Dominic Young, keeping him at the club until the conclusion of the 2030 season.
This news follows reports from earlier in the week that hinted at his re-signing.
Young initially rejected the Knights' first proposal, feeling undervalued by the organization.
This marks Newcastle's return to finals after they claimed the wooden spoon last year.
Young made his way back to Newcastle midway through last season after a stint with the Sydney Roosters in 2024 and the beginning of 2025, as his performance fell short of expectations.
He debuted in the Super League at the age of 17 and moved to Australia to join the Knights in 2021, remaining with them until the end of 2023.
Peter O'Sullivan, the Knights' Head of Recruitment, expressed enthusiasm about Young's future with the team.
"We are delighted Dom has extended for three more years at his home here at the Knights," O'Sullivan stated.
"Dom rejoined us halfway through last year, quickly finding his best footy, creating and scoring tries, along with outstanding yardage carries for his teammates.
"He is an integral part of the DNA, and Dom, alongside a core group of key players, will help guide the Knights into the next five years and beyond."
Justin Holbrook, who began coaching the team this season, praised Young for his contributions on the field.
