Knights v Wests Tigers: Injuries hit hard; Luai, Skelton, Fainu return

The Knights are preparing to face the Wests Tigers this weekend at home, hoping that the return of several key players will help boost their performance.

Last week, Newcastle faced the unbeaten Bulldogs with multiple injuries, including losing prop Jacob Saifiti from the starting lineup and two more players during the match.

Despite being short on the bench, the Knights put up a strong fight and kept the score close until the final minutes.

The Wests Tigers also struggled with injuries in their recent match against the Broncos, missing some key players and eventually falling behind after a competitive first half.

Both teams will be looking to bounce back with a win in their upcoming game.

"Newcastle battled gamely against the unbeaten Bulldogs, losing prop Jacob Saifiti from the run-on, with James Schiller and Jack Hetherington succumbing to injury during the match."

"That left Adam O'Brien with only one player on the bench but the men from the Hunter fought hard to trail only 2-0 at the break before the effort told late in the match."

"Wests Tigers endured a similar experience in their loss to the second-placed Broncos, entering the game without a number of their key performers, taking the challenge to Brisbane in the first half before falling away."

"The Knights are back at home this weekend and will be hoping their reinforcements can help them get back on track when they host a spirited Wests Tigers outfit on Sunday."
