The Newcastle Knights have proudly revealed their 2024 Anzac Round Jersey, paying homage to the brave men and women of RAAF Base Williamtown and the Army School of Infantry, Singleton who have made a significant impact on the region.
In a true team effort, the design of the jersey was a collaborative process with the Hunter Defence Support Network (HSDN), seeking input from serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their loved ones.
The front of the jersey features a striking image of the F-35A Lightning II aircraft soaring over Newcastle's iconic Nobby's Headland, symbolizing strength and unity.
While on the back, Australian Army infantry soldiers are depicted in action at the Lone Pine Barracks, Singleton, showcasing resilience and determination.
To further honor the servicemen and women, the insignia of the Royal Australian Airforce representing RAAF Base Williamtown and the Army School Of Infantry are proudly displayed on the lower rear of the jersey.
A subtle touch of remembrance is added with a sprig of rosemary on the left breast of the jersey, a symbol of respect for those who have served and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, reminiscent of the spirit of Anzac Day.
In unveiling this special jersey, the Newcastle Knights are not only showcasing their deep appreciation for the defense personnel but also demonstrating the true essence of mateship and camaraderie that are at the core of Rugby League and Australian culture.
