Justin Holbrook is poised to become the new head coach for the Newcastle Knights, who recently ended the season as NRL wooden spooners in 2026.
The struggling Knights are anticipated to announce this decision at a board meeting scheduled for Monday night, signifying Holbrook's return to NRL coaching after being dismissed by the Titans nearly three years ago.
Since his departure from the Titans, Holbrook has been serving as an assistant coach at the Sydney Roosters under head coach Trent Robinson.
The 49-year-old currently has a contract with the Roosters that extends to the end of the next season; however, Robinson has previously expressed that the club would allow him to pursue a head coach position if the opportunity arises.
