In their final game of the 2023 NRLW season, Wests Tigers were defeated by the Newcastle Knights with a score of 28-8 at Leichhardt Oval.
According to the match report on the Wests Tigers website, the Knights made an error within their own ten metre zone, giving the Tigers an opportunity to score.
Rikeya Horne, who was celebrating her birthday, capitalized on this opportunity and scored a try from the scrum base.
Jakiya Whitfeld made an impressive line break, putting the Tigers in a favorable field position, and Rebecca Pollard scored a try on the right edge to give the Tigers a half time lead of 8-6.
However, in the second half, the Knights quickly regained the lead when Abigail Roache showcased incredible speed from the scrum base and scored a try.
They extended their lead 11 minutes later.
Whitfeld's remarkable speed amazed the crowd as she chased down Roache from the opposite side of the field.
The Knights silenced the crowd when Yasmin Clydsdale scored a try from close range on the next play.
