Newcastle Knights assistant coach Blake Green has reportedly applied for the head coaching role at Castleford Tigers, as the club seeks a candidate with NRL experience.
Previously, St George Illawarra Dragons assistant coach Ryan Carr was considered the leading candidate for the position.
According to All Out Rugby League, Green's application follows his earlier consideration to succeed Brad Arthur as head coach of Parramatta Eels, a position ultimately filled by Jason Ryles.
Green, who transitioned into coaching after retiring from his playing career in 2021, currently serves under Adam O'Brien at the Newcastle Knights.
Known for his journeyman status, he played for several teams, including the Eels, Sharks, Bulldogs, Storm, Sea Eagles, Warriors, and Knights, covering 181 games from 2007 to 2021.
As Castleford Tigers look for a new head coach, Green's diverse experience in the NRL makes him a noteworthy candidate.
