Knight to take his leave as 2024 ends

The Newcastle Knights are shaking things up in their roster as they aim to change course, with a forward on the cusp of departing at the end of 2024.

Following a surprise win over The Dolphins last Sunday, the Knights are still in the hunt for the 2024 NRL Finals.

But Peter O'Sullivan, the recruitment guru, is already looking to revamp the squad for the future.

Multiple players have been rumored to be shown the exit door under O'Sullivan's watch, and now reports suggest that a forward, Mat Croker, may have played his final game in the Knights jersey.

With his contract expiring after this season, Croker will need to find a new team, as the Knights are not set to offer him an extension.

The departure of Croker signifies the Knights' determination to shape a new era and reclaim their position as contenders in the tough world of Rugby League.
