The Newcastle Knights have been dealt another blow on the contract battlefield, as Englishman Kai Pearce-Paul is set to enter free agency from November 1.
Having burst onto the scene at just 19 years old in the English Super League, Pearce-Paul quickly earned a spot on the national team roster for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup.
Now 23, Pearce-Paul has completed his debut NRL season after making the leap from the Super League in 2024.
Despite being a key signing for the Knights, he only managed to score one try and make 3 line breaks in his 22 appearances, although he did showcase his skill with 15 offloads.
Injuries marred his performance throughout the season, leaving the Knights hoping for a stronger showing from the dynamic forward in 2025.
However, it seems that Pearce-Paul may be looking to spread his wings, with reports suggesting he will be exploring his options and testing his market value come November 1.
