The Wests Tigers have reportedly been shopping around their star player, David Klemmer, in an effort to free up salary cap space for a potential $4 million deal with Jarome Luai.

According to reports from The Daily Telegraph, Klemmer has been floated to rival clubs in an attempt to remove his $750,000 salary from the Tigers' books.

Neither Klemmer nor his agent were aware of the club's reported attempts to offload him, with a third party passing Klemmer's name to potential suitors.

The Daily Telegraph's Dave Riccio confirmed on SEN radio that the Tigers are indeed looking to offload Klemmer in their pursuit of Luai.

"Suddenly, David Klemmer has emerged as a key figure in the Wests Tigers' pursuit of Jarome Luai," Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

It seems that the Tigers are willing to make some big moves in order to secure Luai, and Klemmer may be the casualty in this high-stakes game of salary cap management.
