Nineteen-time Australian international David Klemmer, who has represented the NSW Blues on 14 occasions, has confirmed his future in the sport, marking a shift to the Super League. After spending one year with the St George Illawarra Dragons, the seasoned forward has signed a two-year deal with St Helens that will keep him with the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

Klemmer's transition comes on the heels of his deregistration by Australian club Lakes United, who plays in the Newcastle Rugby League competition. On Saturday, the club announced that, although Klemmer had agreed to a two-year contract with them to conclude his playing career, there was a provision in the contract stipulating that he would be deregistered immediately should an offer from an NRL or Super League team arise. That situation has now unfolded.

"I'm very excited! It's a massive honour to be joining St. Helens, it's such a big club and I feel truly privileged," Klemmer remarked.

"When the opportunity came up, I grabbed it with both hands. Saints has got such a rich history, and I know they demand success, such is the pedigree that the club has. I can't wait to be part of that environment."

He further expressed eagerness to acclimate, saying, "I can't wait to get over with my family, get amongst it all and meet all the boys."
