In a move that has sent shockwaves through the New Zealand Warriors camp, prop Zyon Maiu'u has been granted an early release from his contract to pursue his NRL career in the land Down Under.
The 21-year-old up-and-comer, who made his NRL debut in the Anzac Day clash against Gold Coast at Go Media Stadium last year, was signed with the Warriors until the end of the 2026 season.
Rising through the ranks since his signing in 2021, Maiu'u has been a regular fixture in the club's New South Wales Cup reserve grade side, racking up an impressive 43 appearances in 2023 and 2024.
