Keano Kini, a standout player for the Gold Coast Titans and New Zealand Kiwis, recently opened up about a life-threatening neck injury that nearly resulted in permanent paralysis less than a year ago. As he prepares for his country's Pacific Cup final, Kini expressed his profound gratitude for his recovery.
Eight months ago, Kini faced a daunting reality, as he was just millimetres away from losing the ability to walk due to a serious neck injury. Despite this significant challenge, he successfully returned to the field and is now gearing up for one of the most crucial games of his career on Sunday.
In an interview with nrl.com, Kini discussed the struggles he confronted in the lead-up to the Kiwis' upcoming match against Samoa this weekend.
"At the start of the year I didn't think I would get to this space," Kini reflected. "To be here now is a blessing. I've been through some trials and tribulations and I thank the Lord I'm in this position now."
