Dragons forward Josh Kerr has shared insights into his journey as he prepares for his emotional return to St George Illawarra ahead of the 2026 season. The 29-year-old is set to make his first appearance with the Dragons since 2023 during the Witzer Pre-Season Challenge match against the Knights this Saturday night.

After debuting with the Dragons in 2019, Kerr moved to the Dolphins during their inaugural season, where he developed into a crucial member of their pack. Nearly three years later, he signed a two-year contract with St George Illawarra, making a quick positive impression throughout the pre-season.

Kerr acknowledges that leaving Wollongong was essential for his personal growth, stating that he returns with a renewed outlook on both football and life. The Dragons facilitated his transition to the Dolphins, where he gradually adapted both on and off the field.

Over the past year, Kerr's life has progressed significantly; he has become a father and got engaged. With these major changes enriching his life outside of football, he is excited to make a strong impact upon his return to St George Illawarra.
