Luke Keary, a former Sydney Roosters premiership player, believes that Daly Cherry-Evans is already making a significant impact at his new club. The experienced halfback has impressed early in his return to Bondi ahead of the 2026 NRL season.

Cherry-Evans transitioned to the Roosters after leaving the Manly Sea Eagles during the offseason, with the intent to conclude his illustrious career at the Tricolours.

His move has sparked comparisons to Cooper Cronk, who joined the Roosters later in his career and notably led the team to consecutive premierships in 2018 and 2019.

In a discussion on SEN, Keary noted that Cherry-Evans didn't take long to adjust to his new setting, already making his mark within the team.

"He came in a little bit earlier. Sam's been back and they spent a bit of time together before Christmas," Keary said.

"He's going to bring stability and experience. He's been awesome around the group, everyone likes him and he gives you that confidence."
