Kangaroos' Strategy After Isaah Yeo's Absence

How do the Kangaroos replace Isaah Yeo?

Australia showcased their dominance with a 26-6 victory over England recently, though several Kangaroos labeled the performance as "scrappy" at best.

As they head into the upcoming Ashes clash, the team will have to do so without their captain and star lock Isaah Yeo, who sustained a concussion during the match against England.

Fortunately for the Kangaroos, their depth at the lock position is impressive. However, the question remains: who will fill the No. 13 jersey in Game 2?

Typically, rugby league teams would shift a utility player to the lock position. Yet, with star halfback Tom Dearden currently occupying the No. 14 spot, it appears more prudent to seek a different option for Yeo's replacement.

This leaves top talents like Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Keaon Koloamatangi, Patrick Carrigan, and Reuben Cotter as potential candidates, while reserves such as Jacob Preston and Lindsay Smith also provide strong forward alternatives.

Both Fa'asuamaleaui and Carrigan have excelled as props and are unlikely to be moved from their positions, even though they've shown capability at lock for their club teams.

Cotter has proven to be a valuable impact player off the bench, and head coach Kevin Walters would probably prefer to retain his flexibility within the interchange strategy.
