The Australian Kangaroos have announced their 24-man squad for the upcoming 2025 Ashes Series against England, introducing seven debutants and generating numerous selection questions.
This series marks a departure from prior World Cups, Pacific Championships, or even historic Ashes encounters, as there will be no warm-up matches or opportunities for the head coach to rotate the squad. Instead, the challenge begins immediately at Wembley Stadium, where the Kangaroos must secure victories in two of three games against England to take home the Ashes.
Given this urgent format, coach Kevin Walters faces a tough decision; he cannot afford any experimentation and must field what he believes to be his strongest 17 players right from the start.
The roster includes the following players:
Blayke Brailey, Patrick Carrigan, Nathan Cleary, Xavier Coates, Lindsay Collins, Reuben Cotter, Angus Crichton, Tom Dearden, Dylan Edwards, Tino Fa'asuamaleaui, Harry Grant, Keaon Koloamatangi, Zac Lomax, Mitchell Moses, Cameron Munster, Mark Nawaqanitawase, Jacob Preston, Gehamat Shibasaki, Lindsay Smith, Kotoni Staggs, Ethan Strange, Reece Walsh, Isaah Yeo, Hudson Young.
Next, let's evaluate each position in the squad.
