The Kangaroos have officially punched their ticket to the final after a stellar performance in Christchurch, mate.

It was a redemption of sorts for the boys Down Under after last year's disappointing showing in the Pacific Championships.

Led by winger Zac Lomax's impressive double and a composed effort from Mitch Moses, the Aussies secured their first victory in New Zealand since 2012.

This win sets them up for a showdown in the final against either the Kiwis or Tonga on November 10.

The game started off with a bit of controversy, mate, as an escort penalty against Matt Timoko in the fourth minute put the Kangaroos on the scoreboard thanks to Angus Crichton.

Although the try was butchered due to a loss of control from Crichton, it set the tone for what was to come.

In the 16th minute, Lindsay Collins powered through the defense to score a try, showcasing the Kangaroos' determination and strength.

The Kiwis fought back with a great play from Shaun Johnson and Isaiah Papalii, resulting in a fantastic try by Jamayne Isaako.

But just before half-time, the Kangaroos pulled off a long-range special, mate.

Tom Trbojevic made a break, setting up Lomax for another impressive try.

It was a moment of grit and determination that ultimately secured their spot in the final.

So now, the Kangaroos will be eagerly awaiting their opponents in the final, ready to bring their A-game and fight for victory in classic Aussie style.

Go the Roos!
