The NRL has been dedicated to expanding the game's reach globally in recent years. Events such as the annual Las Vegas opener have significantly contributed to this effort, but the league's ambitions extend beyond this.

According to a report by the Sydney Morning Herald, the NRL is planning a 'Global Round' where every club would compete in major cities worldwide. Players have begun to express their opinions on this initiative.

Star halfback Nathan Cleary, currently representing Australia in the Ashes series, spoke to the Daily Telegraph about the concept of a 'Global Round.' He mentioned, "I didn't know much about it but the boys were talking about it today and, instantly, I think it's a great idea."

Cleary emphasized the importance of promoting the game to wider audiences, stating, "The more we can promote the game and get it to eyes that haven't seen it... the product of rugby league is the best sport in the world." He believes that rugby league has the potential to achieve global stature if more people are introduced to it.
