The ARLC is poised to announce the next head coach for the Kangaroos, with NRL legend Kevin Walters reportedly stepping into the role.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the contract will cover only the upcoming three-game Ashes series at the year's end.
After this period, the search for a new coach will resume, but Walters is believed to be the leading candidate to continue in the position.
In a recent appearance on Fox League, Walters commented on the situation, stating, "I'm being honest with you, I don't know.
There will be a decision made tomorrow."
