Kangaroo coach hunt leaps to unexpected heights

As the Australian Kangaroos prepare for change, a surprising frontrunner has emerged for the head coaching position following Mal Meninga's expected departure.

Meninga, the current coach of the Kangaroos and former Queensland coach, is anticipated to be named the inaugural head coach of the new NRL team, the Perth Bears, in the coming weeks.

His new role provides him with under six months to prepare before the Bears begin signing players on November 1.

Meninga's transition to Perth means the Kangaroos will soon need to appoint a new leader as they get ready for the end-of-year Ashes series against England.

While various candidates have been speculated upon for the Kangaroos job, a surprising name has come to the forefront.

The Daily Telegraph's Buzz Rothfield revealed, "The man to replace Mal will be Bradley Fittler," indicating a strong possibility that Fittler could take the reins for the international team.

This situation has left fans and analysts discussing the implications and potential changes for both the Kangaroos and the newly formed Perth Bears, setting the stage for an intriguing transition in Australian rugby league coaching.
