Kai Kara-France, a devoted Warriors fan from way back, recently opened up about how his beloved footy team played a critical role in his recovery from a nasty concussion.

The Kiwi MMA star shared a heartwarming story about how his dad's proudest moment wasn't during his UFC debut or his shot at the interim flyweight title, but rather when he scored season passes for him as a member of the Warriors' coaching staff.

This rugby league aficionado, who even made the trek to Sydney to witness the Warriors' 2011 Grand Final showdown against Manly, found himself coaching wrestling for the team in 2023, thanks to a nudge from Adam Blair.

"Joining the staff was like a dream come true for me," Kara-France, now 31, gushed ahead of his upcoming fight against Steve Erceg at UFC 305 in Perth.

"I might not have laced up for a game of footy myself, but growing up watching the sport instilled in me a deep appreciation for its nuances.

My role is all about imparting top-notch wrestling skills to the lads, helping them move with precision and awareness of their bodies."
