Kade Dykes is set to make his return from injury in the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for Newtown's clash with Canberra this weekend.

Dykes, who has not played since May last year due to knee surgery, will be stepping back into the fullback position for the Jets.

With Mawene Hiroti moving up to first grade, Dykes will have the opportunity to shine and help the Jets secure their fifth straight win.

Dykes will be joining Jesse Colquhoun, another NRL squad member who recently made a successful comeback from an ACL injury.

Meanwhile, Cronulla's Jersey Flegg Cup team will also be taking on an undefeated Canberra side at Raiders Belconnen on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back from a recent loss to the Bulldogs.

The Jersey Flegg game is scheduled to kick off at 1.15pm, followed by the NSW Cup fixture at 3pm.
