In a tale of mixed luck for the junior Sharks in Round 8, Cronulla's Lisa Fiaola and Tarsha Gale teams faced defeat at the hands of the Knights, while the Harold Matthews and SG Ball Sharks fought their way to victory and a nail-biting draw against the Warriors.

As both women's teams gear up for a showdown in Cessnock on Saturday in hopes of securing a third consecutive win, Lisa Fiaola suffered a 22-0 loss and Tarsha Gale went down 36-14.

Meanwhile, over in Pukekohe on Sunday, the Harold Matthews squad dominated their match with seven tries in a 40-10 triumph that likely cements their spot in the finals.

The SG Ball players staged a spectacular comeback in the second half after falling behind 26-6, rallying to a thrilling 30-all draw with five unanswered tries.

Sitting at 11 points, the eighth-placed under-19 men still have a shot at playoffs as they face off against the table-topping Roosters in the upcoming weekend, with their postseason hopes depending on other match outcomes.

Despite expressing disappointment in his team's errors, Lisa Fiaola coach Robbie Taylor praised their overall development throughout the season.
