Junior Amone Eyes NRL Return After Hiatus

Former St George Illawarra Dragons playmaker Junior Amone is eyeing a return to the NRL after a two-year absence, having last participated in the league in 2023.

Amone, once considered the Dragons' next standout star, saw his career take a downturn after the 2023 NRL season when he was deregistered under the competition's no-fault stand-down policy.

The suspension stemmed from an off-field incident in which he attacked a tradesman with a hammer on a rooftop. As a result, he received a two-year intensive correction order (ICO) and was required to complete 300 hours of community service.

Fortunately for Amone, he will be eligible to return to the NRL starting next week, on October 25, after fulfilling the requirements of his ICO.
