In the latest NRL Judiciary update, it has been reported that Luke Keary and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves have both entered their pleas after being cited by the Match Review Committee in Round 26.
According to the report on the official Roosters website, Keary has decided to enter an early guilty plea in relation to his Grade One Dangerous Throw Charge.
Consequently, he will face a monetary fine of $2500 but will still be eligible to play in the Roosters' Round 27 match.
On the other hand, Waerea-Hargreaves has also chosen to enter an early guilty plea for his Grade One Striking Charge.
However, this plea comes with a different consequence as he will now be forced to sit out of three matches.
Additionally, Waerea-Hargreaves has submitted a guilty plea for his Grade Two Dangerous Contact Charge but plans to contest the grading of the contact at a Judiciary hearing scheduled for Tuesday evening.
If the grading of the contact is successfully downgraded during the hearing, Waerea-Hargreaves will face a reduced penalty of a $3000 fine.
However, if his attempt is unsuccessful, he will be sidelined for a total of four matches.
These developments come after both players were cited following the Roosters' Round 26 match against the Wests Tigers.
Overall, it seems that Keary has managed to escape a significant suspension by accepting the early guilty plea, while Waerea-Hargreaves will now face a period of time on the sidelines but still hopes to reduce the severity of his punishment through the upcoming Judiciary hearing.
