Josh Schuster's NRL future in uncertain turmoil

Josh Schuster in brutal new development after sad $800,000 NRL setback takes new twist

Josh Schuster faces a brutal blow in his NRL career as a whopping $800,000 setback throws a curveball his way.

The promising young gun's future at the club seems to be hanging by a thread.

Manly's top dog, Tony Mestrov, has hinted that the out-of-favour star could be shown the door sooner rather than later in the latest twist of his contract drama.

Last week, Manly dropped the bombshell that Schuster won't be donning the Sea Eagles jersey next season after being benched for the entirety of this NRL campaign.

With a hefty three-year, $800,000 per season deal on the line, Schuster now finds himself in the market for a new footy home after a brief stint with Manly's feeder squad this year.

The hunt is on for a new club for Schuster, who may not see any more NRL action this season if a deal with another team doesn't materialize.

Mestrov has hinted that a resolution with the talented youngster could be reached by week's end.

"Conversations are underway with Josh and his agent," Mestrov revealed.

"No agreements have been reached yet.

It's unlikely that Josh will return to the Sea Eagles, but we hope to have a resolution by the end of the week.

It's time for Josh to spread his wings elsewhere and reach his full potential.

Unfortunately, things just haven't clicked for him here, and we wish him the best of luck."
