Josh Hodgson has officially scored his first coaching gig following his retirement from the NRL, with the Parramatta Eels locking him in to lead their Harold Matthews Cup team in the upcoming 2025 season.

It's a big step for the former dummy half, who will now be calling the shots on the sidelines.

The Harold Matthews Cup team is where young players kick off their journey towards NRL stardom, and Hodgson's appointment is a sign of the Eels' commitment to developing talent from a young age.

The club's junior pathways have had their fair share of ups and downs in the past, but recent efforts to revamp the system show that they are serious about nurturing the next generation of rugby league stars.

Joining Hodgson in the coaching ranks is Jordan Rankin, who will be in charge of the Eels' Jersey Flegg team.

Together, they will work to mold the young players into future stars of the game.

It's an exciting time for both Hodgson and Rankin as they embark on their coaching journeys, and the Eels are hoping that their expertise will help turn their junior teams into powerhouses in the years to come.

With their experience and passion for the game, they are sure to make a big impact on the players under their guidance.
