Ellie Johnston, a player for the NSW Blues Women's team, is set to make her debut in the State of Origin after several near misses in previous seasons.
With last year's starting props Caitlan Johnston-Green and Millie Elliott unavailable due to pregnancy, Johnston has been entrusted with a starting position in the front row.
She will be teaming up with seasoned player Simaima Taufa, who typically plays lock, to establish a solid foundation for the team's performance.
