Cooper Johns 'in pretty bad way' as Matty reveals worrying twist to son's serious car crash

Matty Johns has shared the distress his son Cooper is experiencing after a serious car crash in Sydney this week.

Cooper was driving home following his stint on the Kyle and Jackie O Show when a taxi clipped his Subaru, causing it to flip onto its roof on a busy street.

Although the vehicle was written off, he miraculously escaped without injuries, posting images of the wreckage on social media.

After being assessed by emergency services, he didn't require hospitalization and called Matty to pick him up.

Initially, Cooper made light of the situation, joking with Kyle and Jackie O that his biggest worry was having an ABBA song blaring in his car.

However, Matty revealed that Cooper is now dealing with a form of delayed concussion.

"It's been well noted he had a car accident and he's still in a pretty bad way, he's still shaken up," Matty told SEN radio on Friday.

Cooper had planned to meet his father in Brisbane for the NRL Magic Round but has now canceled those plans, much to the family's distress.

Matty expressed concern, saying, "He was supposed to come up (to Brisbane) this morning, but he's not going to be able to make it, which is a real shame.

It certainly put the wind up the family.

He's not great." He added that although Cooper appeared chipper when picked up, he later felt the emotional toll of the incident.

Cooper described the moment of the crash, saying he felt like he was "floating through space like Katy Perry" as the car flew through the air, and expressed relief at escaping without injuries, although he retains little memory of the event.
