'Sucks to go out like that': Jesse forgiven for final moment of madness
In a display of true sportsmanship, departing captain Jesse Bromwich is seeking forgiveness for his final moment of madness in his 338th and last NRL game with the Dolphins.
Despite the disappointing result, Bromwich remains hopeful that his contributions have laid a solid foundation for the team moving forward.
The Dolphins suffered a 14-6 loss to the Knights at McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday, a defeat that not only ended their playoff hopes but also secured Newcastle's spot in the finals.
Bromwich, a seasoned 35-year-old prop, was left feeling dejected after being sin-binned for a high tackle on Knights captain Kalyn Ponga in the 68th minute.
At that point, Newcastle held a commanding 14-0 lead.
Although centre Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow managed to score a try while Bromwich was off the field, his absence proved to be costly as the Dolphins were unable to close the gap.
Despite the disappointing result, Bromwich remains hopeful that his legacy with the Dolphins will endure, much like the greats of Rugby League before him.
