The Westpac NSW Blues Women are gearing up for the new Origin series with an exciting new halves pairing of Jesse Southwell and Tiana Penitani Gray.
Jesse Southwell, a 20-year-old halfback from the Newcastle Knights, has already made a mark with two Origin appearances.
She will be teaming up with the experienced 29-year-old captain of the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Penitani Gray, who has played eight Origin games.
Despite being a relatively new combination, Southwell and Penitani Gray have spent the past two months learning from each other and adapting to their respective styles of play.
The confidence in Southwell's potential is palpable, as she is described as "Probably the best No.7 in the game," indicating high expectations for her performance in the upcoming series.
