Jayden Campbell, the 25-year-old halfback for the Titans, has developed a newfound ambition to represent Queensland after experiencing his first taste of Origin during a recent camp.
Participating in the preparations leading up to the deciding game, Campbell had the opportunity to immerse himself in the training environment, inspiring him to pursue the Maroons jersey with heightened determination.
The camp, held on the Sunshine Coast, allowed Campbell to engage closely with notable figures in rugby league, including coach Billy Slater and legends like Johnathon Thurston and Cameron Munster.
During his time there, he took on the role of simulating stars Jarome Luai and Nathan Cleary, which further fueled his passion for the game.
Reflecting on the experience, Campbell remarked, "It's given me something to chase," highlighting how the opportunity helped him realize his deep-seated desire to achieve his dream of representing Queensland.
He soaked in the wisdom of coaches and other players, eager to apply what he learned as he continues his journey in the sport.
This encounter with the Origin atmosphere has reignited a fire within him that he previously underestimated, and is now pushing him to strive for excellence in his career.
