Interchange forward Jazz Tevaga has been ruled out of the New Zealand Warriors' upcoming match against the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles due to a hamstring injury.
Tevaga, a 27-year-old veteran with 116 games under his belt, had recently returned from a long injury lay-off.
Unfortunately, during a field session before the game, he picked up the hamstring injury, leaving him unable to participate.
The severity of the injury is yet to be determined as the medical team is awaiting scan results.
Tevaga had been sidelined since Anzac Day recovering from a calf injury and only made his comeback two weeks ago against the Gold Coast.
In addition to Tevaga, winger Edward Kosi and halfback Ronald Volkman were also omitted from the extended squad.
However, prop Tom Ale, who moves onto the interchange, along with hooker Freddy Lussick and fullback Taine Tuaupiki, have been retained in the 19-man game day squad.
