Gold Coast Titans' star, Jayden Campbell, is on the brink of becoming a highly sought-after free agent in under three months, as he has reportedly put contract negotiations with his current club on pause.

The 25-year-old, son of renowned Indigenous rugby league player Preston Campbell, has established himself in the halfback position this season. Over the years, he has showcased versatility playing as a fullback and coming off the interchange bench in various roles.

However, Campbell's tenure with the Titans might end sooner than anticipated, with several rival teams, along with the NRL's two latest expansion clubs, keen on acquiring his services from the Gold Coast.

The uncertainty surrounding coach Des Hasler's future has been a factor, with The Courier-Mail reporting that Campbell has decided to delay contract discussions for now, setting his sights on the open market in the near future.

"I've thought about that [future] but at the same time I just want to play good football here," Campbell stated. "I've really enjoyed the last month of football. [My future] hasn't really crossed my mind too much."
