Jamie Feeney, a former NRL forward for the Canterbury Bulldogs and Melbourne Storm, has landed a new head coaching position for the upcoming season after being considered for the Canterbury Bulldogs NRLW top role.
Feeney, who last played in the NRL in 2006, has accepted the head coach position for the Aberdeen Tigers, a team competing in the Group 21 competition.
Previously, he was linked to the Bulldogs NRLW head coaching job before it was awarded to Brayden Wiliame. Feeney's coaching experience includes leadership roles with the Sydney Roosters and Gold Coast Titans in the NRLW, as well as coaching Central Coast in the Under-21s Jersey Flegg competition.
More recently, he guided Marsden State High School to the Queensland schoolgirls' title in 2022, where they won against Kirwan State High School with a score of 36-16.
Before retiring, the 47-year-old played a total of 132 matches with the Bulldogs from 1999 to 2004 and with the Melbourne Storm from 2005 to 2006.
Feeney primarily played as a back-row forward or lock, and he also represented NSW Country in 2002.
