Jahrome Hughes, the star player from Melbourne, recently addressed rumors linking him to the Titans, making it clear that he is committed to staying with the Storm for the long haul.
The 29-year-old halfback, who played a crucial role in the 2020 premiership win, is determined to continue his career in Melbourne and has no plans to jump ship to Gold Coast.
Despite being eyed by the Titans as a potential replacement for Kieran Foran in the future, Hughes brushed off any speculation about a move, dismissing them as "all lies." He emphasized his loyalty to Melbourne, expressing his desire to win more premierships with the Storm.
"Staying in Melbourne for the rest of my career is my goal.
I am in no rush to sign a new deal as I still have two more years left on my contract after this season," Hughes stated.
While Hughes has roots in Gold Coast, with his partner hailing from the area and his NRL debut taking place with the Titans in 2013, he is focused on building a life and starting a family in Melbourne.
Any potential move back to the Gold Coast would only be considered post-retirement from his NRL career.
"We are planning to settle down and have kids in Melbourne.
We both feel at home there, so any thoughts of relocating to the Gold Coast would be in the distant future," Hughes explained.
