Jahrome Hughes has become a standout player in the NRL this season, with the Melbourne Storm halfback attributing his success to a new mindset and determination to lead his team to a premiership victory.

Teammate Cameron Munster, known for his fiery spirit on the field, has been reminding Hughes of his growing chances for the prestigious Dally M Medal, but Hughes remains focused on his team's success over personal accolades.

Despite missing key players due to injury, Hughes has stepped up to guide the Storm to the minor premiership.

As the season progresses, Hughes has emerged as a top contender for the title of the NRL's best player in 2024, a fact not lost on Munster who takes every opportunity to remind him of his achievements.

However, Hughes remains humble and determined to focus on achieving success as a team.

Having spent eight seasons in Melbourne, Hughes has evolved from a tentative fill-in fullback to a star player and key player for the New Zealand national team.

His decision at the start of the season to take more control of the team has clearly paid off, as he continues to excel on the field and lead his team towards their ultimate goal.
