Jada Taylor's return to the NRLW may have come two months later than expected, but it coincides with a crucial time for Cronulla's finals campaign, according to reports from sharks.com.au.
In her comeback, Taylor showcased her skills with 91 metres gained and six tackle busts, contributing to what coach Tony Herman described as an "improved running performance" from the team. The 22-year-old stepped in as fullback after Kiwi Ferns playmaker Tyla King experienced a head injury that necessitated a backline adjustment.
Although Taylor may find it challenging to replace Emma Verran as the starting No.1 spot for the remainder of the season, Herman noted after the match that her return provides "the luxury of genuine depth" in the team's spine.
Taylor's journey back to the field has been lengthy; she tore her ACL in Round 2 last year and was originally expected to start the season with Cronulla. Although she was involved in pre-season training, medical staff had to intervene, halting her progress.
