JFC Team List: Promising halfback named for comeback
Halfback Jack Thompson, a standout in last year's Harold Matthews Cup grand final for the NZ Warriors, is set to make his comeback after a lengthy absence.
Coinciding with the 2025 decider, Thompson, now 19, is poised to debut in the Jersey Flegg Cup (under-21) in suburban Melbourne.
The match will take place at Seabrook Reserve in Broadmeadows, with a local kick-off time of 1:30 PM (3:30 PM NZT).
Thompson will team up with captain Jett Cleary in the halves.
He joined the Warriors from Newcastle midway through last year's Harold Matthews Cup season and quickly made an impact, particularly noted for his impressive two-try performance in the grand final victory over Western Suburbs.
