Jack Bird appears to have concluded his NRL career.
As reported by the Daily Telegraph, the Tigers are willing to part ways with the 30-year-old player as he looks for chances in the UK Super League to revitalize his career.
The former premiership champion fell out of favor in the middle of the 2025 season, missing the last six games for the club before being allowed to seek opportunities at the end of the season.
Initially, there were discussions about a trade that would have sent Bird to the Manly Sea Eagles in exchange for front-rower Nathan Brown; however, those negotiations fell through, leaving Bird's future uncertain.
Although it seemed Bird might remain with the Tigers, he has had talks with the London Broncos regarding a potential move to the Betfred Championship.
That possibility, however, didn't materialize due to the Broncos' unsuccessful bid for promotion to Super League and existing salary cap constraints.
The Broncos, now under the ownership of Darren Lockyer and coached by Jason Demetriou, have already secured several notable NRL players, including Reagan Campbell-Gillard, Dean Hawkins, Savelio Havili, and Luke Smith.
Bird is still actively seeking a Super League opportunity, as roster spots are available across various clubs.
His departure could benefit the Tigers by giving them more flexibility with the salary cap and an additional slot in their top-30 squad, which would help them retain key young talents like Jahream Bula.
