Isaah Yeo's message to Sunia Turuva as grim stat about former Panthers comes to light

Isaah Yeo, the captain of the Panthers, recently delivered a stern message to Sunia Turuva amidst some worrying statistics about former players from the club.

Yeo advised Turuva not to underestimate the value of being part of Penrith's successful team, as the winger considers offers from other clubs.

In recent years, a significant number of star players have left the Panthers in search of bigger contracts elsewhere, following the team's triumph in the NRL.

Since 2020, a total of 26 players have bid farewell to the Panthers and moved on to rival clubs.

However, only three out of these 26 have gone on to experience the thrill of finals footy.

While many of these players opted to join struggling teams with room in their salary cap, achieving success outside of Penrith has proven to be a tough challenge for most.

Among the 26 departures, Kurt Capewell, Jack Hetherington, and Paul Momirovski stand out as the only ones who have tasted finals footy since their departure.

Currently, seven of the players are on their first team post-Panthers.

Yet, the remaining 19 individuals who have yet to make it to the finals post-exit reflect a slim chance of less than 16 percent for finals action.

With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Turuva has been linked to the Dragons following Zac Lomax's departure in 2024, which has created room in the salary cap.

Despite the tempting financial offers from other clubs, Yeo, along with Edwards, has advised Turuva to carefully consider the potential for success elsewhere before prioritizing monetary gains.
