Cronulla Sharks centre KL Iro has expressed his openness to representing England in the upcoming Ashes series against Australia, while maintaining his commitment to the Cook Islands.
As reported by zerotackle.com, Iro's strong performance in the 2025 season-scoring six tries in five games-highlights his talent.
He qualifies for England due to his birthplace in Leeds in 2000, during his father Kevin Iro's time playing for St Helens in the Super League.
Despite uncertainty regarding eligibility details, the 23-year-old made it clear that he would welcome the opportunity.
He stated, "Yeah, for sure.
I'm not sure if I'm eligible.
I'm not sure how it works.
But, yeah, I wouldn't say no.
I would never say no to that, bro.
I think it's pretty cool if you could do that."
