Injury Update: Matt Burton Fit For Vegas

After Matt Burton exited Saturday's match clutching his left hamstring, Bulldogs director Gus Gould says the playmaker is expected to be available for the Vegas opener.

Gould posted an update on social media outlining Burton's assessment.

"Matt Burton's MRI scan today shows no tear of the hamstring...Awaiting full report, but appears good to go,"

With youngster Mitchell Woods sidelined through injury, Sean O'Sullivan remains the most likely replacement in the halves if Burton's situation were to deteriorate.

Gould also shared news on forward Leo Thompson after the player was withdrawn from the All Stars fixture due to calf tightness.

"Leo Thompson arrives home from NZ this evening...He will have his scans tomorrow morning... At this stage, it's considered precautionary, but essential nonetheless,"

The club has described Thompson's case as a precaution while medical staff complete scans.

Preparations continue with the Bulldogs set to depart Sydney on Thursday for their Round 1 clash against the Dragons in Las Vegas.

Coaches and trainers will keep monitoring both Burton and Thompson closely in the build-up to the match.
